Meet the Founder
Dr. Michael Chen, PharmD
Founder & CEO
Dr. Michael Chen is the sole Founder and CEO of Empire Pharmacy Consultants.
His journey in pharmacy began as a teenage pharmacy technician in Maryland before serving in the United States Navy, where he developed the leadership discipline and operational accountability that still guide EPC today.
After returning to healthcare, Dr. Chen gained hands-on experience in hospital pharmacy, including chemotherapy compounding and neonatal care. He later earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University School of Pharmacy in 2002 and completed a competitive Director of Hospital Pharmacy residency, further strengthening his expertise in pharmacy operations and leadership.
Recognizing a gap between the needs of pharmacy owners, pharmacists, and technicians, he founded Empire Pharmacy Consultants on January 17, 2007. His vision was clear: create a firm that delivers structured, reliable solutions grounded in real-world pharmacy experience.
